Professional Central Humidifier Installation In Kendall Park, NJ

Right On Air Conditioning And Heating completed a central humidifier installation on Adams Road in Kendall Park, NJ. The job began with a careful inspection of the customer’s existing central HVAC system to determine the best humidifier for their application. After assessing the layout and needs, we selected the Aprilaire model 400A, a water saving humidifier that fit the home’s requirements.

During the inspection we found an older misting humidifier had been in use. That system had caused moisture damage to the supplied ductwork, and the supply trunk had rotted where the old unit connected. Because of that damage, replacing the humidifier alone was not enough. We removed the old misting humidifier and cut out the damaged section of supply trunk duct to prepare for a proper installation.

As part of this central humidifier installation, we installed a new section of supply duct and made sure all seams were sealed. Proper sealing helps prevent future moisture and air leakage. The Aprilaire model 400A was mounted on the return side of the duct system, and a 6 inch bypass was installed from the supply to the humidifier to allow correct airflow through the unit.

The Aprilaire 400A includes an automatic digital control that adjusts humidity based on outdoor temperature. This outdoor-sensing control means the homeowner does not need to adjust a dial when the weather changes. The control also has a blower activation mode, which is useful because many manual humidifiers only run when the furnace is calling for heat.

With the digital control and blower activation mode, the humidistat can turn on the furnace blower and activate the humidifier without a separate call for heat, providing more consistent and accurate humidity control throughout the home. That consistency helps maintain comfortable indoor humidity levels no matter the outdoor conditions.

We reviewed operation and maintenance procedures for the Aprilaire 400A with the homeowner, covering how the system works, what to check regularly, and when to perform basic maintenance. We also provided all operating manuals so the homeowner has reference material for future use and upkeep.

Properly humidified homes can feel warmer at lower thermostat settings, which can improve comfort and help save on energy bills. The homeowner now has a water saving central humidifier and a repaired supply trunk, giving them improved humidity control and peace of mind.

Right On Air Conditioning And Heating in Kendall Park, NJ completed the installation, repairs, and homeowner training to ensure the new central humidifier is ready for reliable operation.
