What size HVAC do I need?
There are a number of factors that help a professional heating contractor determine this like the size of the home, number of rooms, type of construction and placement. One of our trained technicians will meet with you to offer a professional assessment.
How do I know if I need replacement or just repairs?
Repairs are the best option until they aren't.
The reason you may need replacement could be because your current system is:
- Beyond repair
- Too old
- Valued at less than it would cost for repairs
The good news is that modern HVAC systems are as much as 60% more efficient than ones from just a decade ago. Work with one of our reputable contractors and you will never have to question their professional diagnosis.
When do I need emergency heat?
As the term implies, you have emergency heat as a backup should your main heat source fail. There could be damage to the system and before you can get repairs, switching to emergency heat helps keep your household warm. Keep in mind, for all-electric heat pumps, running it in this mode is much more expensive so use it sparingly. Also, give us a call ASAP as we offer service 24/7!
Are there any repairs I can take care of myself?
The only service a homeowner should consider taking care of for their HVAC system is changing the filter. This should be done once a month, especially during times of peak use. If your filter gets too dirty, it will restrict or possibly completely block the airflow. Other than that, leave your service and repairs to the industry experts in order to prevent damage or injury.
How do I know if something is wrong with my HVAC system?
There are a number of signs your system may be in distress; some are obvious and some not so obvious.
Red flags include:
- Not enough or no heat/AC at all
- Unusual noises
- An inexplicable spike in your utility bill
However, if something even just seems off about your system, have it inspected. The sooner you can nip a developing problem in the bud, the better off you and your wallet will be.
